Be a Devil - North Texas Joins USAFL Lineup

The saying goes that everything is bigger in Texas.  And that is true in every sense of the word.

It’s the biggest state in the continental US.  Heck, it was its own country at one time.  It has its own culture and its own identity.  And when they embrace something, they do it wholeheartedly.

The Dallas-Fort Worth metro area and greater northern Texas embody this.  Nearly two centuries after its foundation, it continues to be one of the fastest growing areas in the country.  And… they love their football.

Heart of Iowa: Remembering Lauren Rice

Being successful at anything is not simply about performing and executing when it counts.  It’s about being able to learn from the world around you, and being able to communicate what you’ve learned so fortify your own knowledge and pass on ideas to others.

Fiercer and Kinder - Remembering Pat Bilder

The passion of Australian rules football ran deep within Patrick Bilder’s veins.

For fifteen years, from Baton Rouge to New York, and then to South Florida, he proved himself  an exemplary teammate, a stalwart defender, a fun loving person, and just all around good human being.

He was also immensely intelligent, and devoted his life to the study and teaching of the sciences, where his work was nationally recognized.

2019 USAFL Roll of Honor

The completion of every USAFL season is a time of reflection, recovery, and celebration.

For each of the clubs in the league, there is always something to celebrate.  For some, it is an improvement in on- and/or off-field growth.  For others, the gallantries involve drinking out of a championship cup or two.  Many, if not all, are celebrated at pubs that have backed these clubs financially and spiritually, and it's a chance to return the favor.

Whats On Tap - 21 September 2019

It's hard to believe that this is the last weekend of the USAFL regular season.  In three weeks' time, we'll be heading down to sunny Sarasota-Bradenton, Florida, for the biggest Aussie Rules tournament in the world.

First things first... one more blockbuster weekend of footy.

Ten events from the coast of Maine to the beaches of San Diego punctuate this 2019 campaign, with teams getting one last little nudge in before the big dance.  If you're near one of these matches / events, go on out and support local Aussie Rules in the USA.

Whats on Tap - 7 September 2019

The final full month of the USAFL regular season is here, and this weekend there are seven big matches as we head towards Nationals in Sarasota-Bradenton on October 12-13.

Seven events with USAFL implications happen this Saturday, including a couple of long range road trips, as Oklahoma and Seattle rack up the air miles, and the first ever USAFL matches for Tampa Bay and Hawai’i.

Whats on Tap - 23 and 24 August 2019

Seven weekends remain until Nationals in Sarasota.  There are five events happening this very weekend as cooler temps sweep across the country, and the first hints of fall creep into the atmosphere.  The entire weekend schedule, including metro games, can be found here.

2019 USAFL All-Regionals Team

Australian Rules football is a team sport.  Eighteen parts plus those on the sidelines working together as one key unit in search of scoring more points than the other team.

But from time to time, it's good to recognize the key cogs of the machines that make up the USAFL clubs.  Over forty of said clubs trekked to one of three cities during the course of the summer -- Raleigh, Denver, and Salem -- in the first buoy that is the oceanic league season.

Tiger Sharks Swim into USAFL Family

In October, the USAFL Nationals will head to Western Florida for the second time in four years, as the freshly manicured grounds of the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch play host to the world’s biggest Aussie Rules tournament.

And the home region will have a brand new club to rep it when the footballs take flight in three months’ time.

The USAFL is proud to officially welcome the Tampa Bay Tiger Sharks as its 46th member club.
