Dallas Buffaloes Tulsa on the Road to Open Season

Tulsa, OK - The 2015 USAFL season got underway for the Tulsa Buffaloes as they hosted The Dallas Magpies. Thunderstorms threatened to ruin the day early in the morning but as luck would have it, sunny skies prevailed. The rain soaked field provided a wet and slippery footy which in turn led to diminished skills and quite a few long lasting scrums.

Tampa Names President, Head Coach for 2015

With their first full season set to kick off a month from now, and with a growing list of recruits to take the pitch, the Tampa Bay ARFC are putting their leadership pieces in place with a good deal of experience in the game behind them.

In press releases on Tuesday and Wednesday, the club announced Mark Lumsden as its first president, and longtime USAFL veteran and former USA Revolution player Dustin Jones as its first head coach.

New York’s Aurrichio Has His Eyes on the AFL

New York Magpie Alex Aurrichio began his journey to Australia flying high from a National Championship win by the Pies this October.  Formerly an athlete at Columbia University playing soccer and baseball, Aurrichio joined the New York Magpies during the 2014 season after a showing at the USAFL Combine last April.  Having been in Melbourne for just over a month, Aurrichio is putting his effort into overdrive training with the likes of Collingwood VFL, Coburg VFL, and St. Kilda Sandringham VFL. 

Nashville Kangaroos Seeking Head Coach for 2015

The Nashville Kangaroos are inviting applications for the position of head coach of our men’s USAFL Australian football team. It is preferred that the head coach not be a current player in 2015. Ideally, this will be a person who will be staying with Nashville Kangaroos for the long term.

The beginning of a new era in Hawks history was a positive one, as the team held off the North Carolina Tigers 54-47 in their first home game at Lower Perkiomen Valley Park.

The Lady Suns Have Arrived

Saturday, June 28, 2014 - The Sacramento Lady Suns have shown they will be a force to be reckoned with in 2014, defeating the San Francisco Iron Maidens convincingly on their home turf.

The Suns and Lady Suns participated in the first ever Western Region Metro Tournament, hosted by the Golden Gate Australian Football League (GGAFL) in Daly City, and traveled in numbers with 27 men and 21 women, along with family and friends, making the trip down Interstate 80.

Freeze Hold Firm at Home Against the Roosters

The Minnesota Freeze held firm in a home game against the Des Moines Roosters, handing the Iowa cocks a thorough depluming by a score of 92 to 8.

Kangaroos defeat Atlanta Kookaburras by 22 goals in Season Opener

The Nashville Kangaroos played their first game of the season against the Atlanta Kookaburras at Ted Rhodes Multipurpose Sports Field on June 28, 2014.

Early in a highly successful 2012 season, the Nashville Kangaroos defeated the Atlanta Kookaburras twice on the way to winning the Down Under Fest Football Allstars (DUFFA) Cup in Cumming, Georgia. In 2013, the Kangaroos defeated Atlanta both at home and away. Although neither team was at full strength, the Kangaroos were strong favorites at home.

Freeze Rout Chicago in Intense Rivalry Clash

The Minnesota Freeze continued their strong start to the season Saturday, defeating the Chicago Swans in a hard-fought rivalry match 79-26 on Chicago’s home ground at Waveland Park.

Coming off a strong showing in the Des Moines 10-a-Side Tournament in which the Freeze emerged as champion, the Freeze rolled into Chicago with momentum and their eyes set on avenging a tough 2013 loss to the Swans in Chicago.
