2007 49th Parallel Cup No. 1

Saturday January 20th saw the seventh meeting of American Revolution and the Canadian Northwind in the 49th Parallel Cup, held for the first time in Houston, Texas. This was the first of two games between the two teams in 2007 as both countries prepare for Melbourne 2008. In wet and blustery conditions that could only be described as “perfect Melbourne weather” (for winter at least), the Revolution easily accounted for the Northwind, 4.10 (34) to 1.2 (8).

2005 International Cup

The Revolution defeated Ireland in a play off for 3rd place after they finished 4th in round play with a record of 3 wins and 1 loss. James Brunmeier of the Milwaukee Bombers and Donnie Lucero of the Orange County Bombers were selected in the 2005 International Team.

2002 International Cup

The Revolution defeated Great Britain in a play off for 5th place after they finished 3rd in their pool with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses. Charley Ellis of the Denver Bulldogs and Chad Martin of the Phoenix Scorpions were selected in the “Team of the Series”.

In the final for the International Cup Ireland beat Papua New Guinea 7.9.51 to 2.7.19.
