USA National Teams Training Camp

The USAFL will be holding a training camp for the USA Revolution and USA Freedom teams in Austin, Texas the weekend of February 25-27.

The Revolution Coaches will be focusing on the preparation of players for the International Cup in Australia, in August 2011, and the camp will be used to finalize the squad for this tournament. Attendance at the camp is by invitation only. This camp is the culmination of a 2 year recruiting process implemented by Revolution Coach Matt Bishop and he is confident a very strong squad will be making the journey to Australia.

Barnes Coaching for Freedom

The USAFL is excited to announce the appointment of Leigh Barnes, former Executive Board Member and long time USAFL player, umpire, coach and administrator as the new national women's team coach. “We are extremely pleased to have Barnesy on-board as the Freedom’s Head Coach, he brings with him many years of playing and coaching experience and a good nature that will enable him to bond well from day one with the team”, says Rich Mann, USAFL President.

International Cup Date Change

The AFL have made some changes to the scheduling of the 2011 International Cup after taking into consideration the requests of participating countries nominated as well as the recently released 2011 AFL fixture. The tournament will be played in both Sydney and Melbourne from Friday August 12 through to Saturday August 27, 2011.

Tackling Peace wins film award

TACKLING Peace, the story of an Israeli-Palestinian Australian Football team who learnt about the game together has won the Provincia Di Milano Award for Outstanding Film, and the Mention D'Honneur in the Sport & Society category of Sports Film Awards held in Milan, Italy last week.

The USAFL Grows Mo's for Movember

Saturday, October 23, 2010 – The United States Australian Rules Football League is excited to announce their participation in Movember 2010. During the month of November, male players from across the country will grow mustaches to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer. Teams within the USAFL will compete to see which club and individual can raise the most money, and most importantly, who can sport the best Mo’. Fact: In 2010 tragically more than 32,000 men will die as a direct result of prostate cancer.

Friday, October 22, 2010 - The 2010 USAFL National Tournament may be over but the winners are still grinning. This year’s tournament proved to be a huge success particularly for the New York Magpies who took out both Division I and Division IV Championship Titles.

"The weekend was the culmination of a lot of hard work by the entire club” said Ed McCormick, President of the New York Magpies, “and the Magpie family is very proud of the efforts from its Men's, Women's and Reserves sides; all were tested against incredibly tough opponents.” continued McCormick.

International Cup 2011 Dates Released!

August 6-21 are the official dates for the 2011 International Cup in Australia. Official locations are not yet finalized. The USA Revolution and possibly Freedom will travel to Australia to compete in next years tournament. Clubs should consider these dates when setting their 2011 schedule.
