Dec 30, 2020 That Was the Year That Was 2020It is December 31st. The final day of the year that seemed to drag on for three or four. 366 pages fell from the calendar in 2020. In that respect, it was like any other year, or at least the ones that fall when we play catch up to account for the earth’s rotation around the sun. But 2020 was not any ordinary year. It is one that we will have to carefully explain to our children, grandchildren, niblings, and others who are either too young or not hitherto born yet, about what excitedly living through this year was like. Oct 7, 2020 2020 USAFL Members ShirtWe are proud to introduce the USAFL 2020 Member T-Shirt. The T-Shirt pays homage to one of the most successful men’s players in USAFL history, Alexander Aurrichio. Alexander lost his life in a tragic accident while riding his bike in Darwin Australia earlier this year. The T-Shirt design features Alexander’s silhouette that is taken from a photo of Alexander in action at the 2014 USAFL National Championships when he led the New York Magpies to their second Nationals title. Based on several key factors including the recent surge in infections across the country, operational considerations provided by the Safety Task Force, USAFL member survey feedback, and the inability to ensure the safety of participants and communities, it is with heavy hearts that the Board has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Nationals Tournament. Under normal circumstances, we would all have our bags packed en route for flights to the Dallas Metroplex for the first of three stops on what has become the Great American Aussie Rules Roadshow.
