Sacramento Suns Shine in Vegas

Decked out with their brand new kits, the Sacramento Suns headed to Las Vegas on July 28 to see if they could play as good as they looked. The Nevada sun greeted them which was almost a cool relief after the recent Sacramento weather patterns.

The day began with the Lady Suns taking on the Arizona Lady Hawks, who had some help with girls from Las Vegas, the San Francisco Bay area, Orange County, and Los Angeles filling in.

Kangaroos defeat Boston Demons to continue 5-game win streak

The Kangaroos remember well their epic journey to Boston in 2010. With flight delays and an unplanned overnight stopover, the trip to Boston took over 20 hours. Nonetheless, the Nashville team leaped onto the field and quickly took control of the 2010 game.

War and Peace… and Footy

By Andrea Williams, Boston Demons

The mission of Seeds Of Peace summer camp is simply summarized as, “Treaties are made by governments; peace is made by people”. The camp seeks to open the paths for communication, and eventual understanding, between the sides of conflicted regions. On an unassuming Sunday morning in July, a handful of Boston Demons and Lady Demons hit the road up to Maine for what can only be described as a once in a lifetime kind of day.

Bombers Win a Thriller

The OC Bombers hosted the San Diego Lions on Saturday July 21 in Irvine, and got home by the narrowest of margins.

Madison Mid-West Tournament Results

The Milwaukee Bombers hosted the second Madison Australian Football Invitational on July 21.  The day was a great success with a high standard of football and competitive matches played throughout.

This year's tournament featured seven teams from across the Midwest and two women's matches with players from Minnesota, Columbus and Milwaukee.  Participating men's teams included the Chicago Swans, Kansas City Power, Minnesota Freeze and the Columbus Jackaroos in the 18 a side pool.

Kangaroos advance to 8-1 with six goal victory

The Nashville Kangaroos traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina on July 14 hoping to extend their winning start to the 2012 season. Their hosts, the Tigers had an inauspicious season opener in Columbus but were strong at home with a ten goal win over the Philadelphia Hawks in June.

OC Bombs the Dragons

The OC Bombers hosted the LA Dragons on Saturday, July 7 in Irvine, and recorded a comfortable 41 point win. It was a tight contest for three quarters before the Bombers pulled away in the last quarter. Some inaccuracy in front of goal stopped OC from posting a much bigger win, having 12 scoring shots to 1 in the last quarter but only gaining a 21 point advantage as a result. The small field meant a lot of congested play, but the Bombers will need to improve in front of goal going forward.

Nashville Kangaroos believe 'pads' is a 4-letter word

No pads. No helmets. No problem.

Australia Rules Football, or “footy” as it is more commonly referred to, is a game that’s been played for more than 150 years in Australia and has found a welcoming home in Nashville and other cities across the United States.

The Nashville Kangaroos are one of the six founding teams of the United States Australian Football League in 1997. Fifteen years later, the league has grown to 44 teams nationwide.

“Clarky”

We typically have games on Sunday but this weekend our game was on Saturday night at 5:45 against Palm Beach. We played at their field which is located on the Gold Coast. By 5:45 it is dark here so it was another game under the lights. I have never played under the lights and now two games under the lights. It is a unique experience to play under the lights and I have grown to enjoy it!
