Familial Culture Paces Outlaws in Opening Season

They call Arizona “the Valley of the Sun,” most likely because some days, it feels like you’re living on its surface.

It’s known for its hot, dry weather, its desert scenery, and for its booming and ever-expanding metropolis in Phoenix.

For the past two decades, however, it has been a literal and figurative hotbed of Aussie Rules football.   From the Phoenix Scorpions and Tuscon Javelinas giving way to what is now the Arizona Hawks, the game has flourished in the nation’s 48th state.

USA, Great Britain To Contest Trans-Atlantic Trophy

Two nations, linked together by history, will now come together to do battle on the oval on a triennial basis.

The USAFL and AFL England are pleased to announce the Trans-Atlantic Trophy, in which the USA Revolution and USA Freedom will play the Great Britain Bulldogs and Great Britain Swans every three years beginning in 2021.

Great Britain will host the inaugural matches, which are tentatively scheduled for August 21, 2021, with the return games to be played in the United States in 2024.

USAFL Nationals Head Back to Sarasota-Bradenton for 2019

The USAFL Executive Board is excited to announce that the 2019 USAFL National Championships will be held in Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida the weekend of October 12 and 13. The USAFL Administrator's Conference and AGM will be held on Friday October 11.  It will once again be hosted with the cooperation of the Sarasota County Sports Commission (SCSC) and Bradenton Area Sports Commission (BACVB).

There, with the northern sun sinking lower than a student unsure of his answer in open class, the Austin Crows rode off into the sunset with not one, but two more cups.

Interview with AFL Umpires Chamberlain, McInerney, Donlon, and Gavine

The USAFL and the USAFL Umpires Association were pleased to welcome AFL umpires Shane McInerney, Chris Donlon, Hayden Gavine, and Ray Chamberlain (pictured at left with USAFL Umpires Association president Jonathan Mills) to this past weekend's National Championships in Racine, Wisconsin.  The guest umpires took part in Friday afternoon's umpiring clinic, as well as observing and performing umpiring duties during tournament matches.
