Apr 3, 2003 John HarrellDear USAFL, It is my sad duty to inform you that John Harrell, founder of the Louisville Cats and visionary in the early development of the USAFL passed away, following a brief hospitalization, on Tuesday. Mar 31, 2003 Founder of Louisville CatsIt is with sadness in my heart that I am reporting that our friend, John Harrell, age 36, has lapsed into coma after a massive cranial hemorrhage yesterday in Louisville, KY. John is the founder of the Louisville Cats and one of the pioneers of Australian Football in America. John has been a good friend to me since 1996 and a friend to all the Atlanta Kookaburras; thus I ask that tonight you keep John in your prayers. I also encourage your prayers for his wife, Laura, and their 3 year old daughter.
