Licata, Coventry Join Freedom Coaching Staff

As he prepares his team for the 2020 AFL International Cup, new USA Freedom head coach Dannie Seow is also assembling his coaching staff which will help him towards his goal of growing the program.

It’s a task that will involve knowledgeable people, not only of football the game and of people who play it, but of the footballing landscape of the US.

And he couldn’t have picked two people who fit the bill more perfectly.

Schoennagel Takes Helm as Suns Coach

Vicky Schoennagel has worn many hats during her time with the Sacramento Australian Football Club.

On the field, she’s been a consistent sparkplug defender and two time Lady Suns Nationals MVP, notched an additional 40-plus games in the SacAFL  leagues, and represented her country with the Liberty at the 2014 AFL International Cup.  She’s also umpired matches locally, regionally, and nationally as a certified member of the USAFL Umpires Association.

ANZAC Day, commemorated on April 25th every year, honors the memory and valor of Australians who have served their country and given the ultimate sacrifice.  It is a link of generations, from those who battled at Gallipoli, to the brave men and women of today.

Woven within the fabric of the day is the game of football; for among those who were the first Australians who lost their lives were the heroes of the oval, their future cut short so that future generations can enjoy the fruits of life.

2018 Season Previews - Women West

Women’s footy is growing across the board at a lightning pace; that is certain as certain does.

But if one were to pinpoint the strength of the game geographically, it would be, just as the men’s game, in the West Coast.  The teams in this preview – Denver is officially a part of the Central Region this year and will be playing in the Nashville Regional – have won a total of 9 D1 National Titles, and all three D2 cups (Calgary 2015, Arizona and Seattle 2016, Portland 2015-2017).
