Countdown to 2014 USAFL Nationals

The 2014 USAFL National Championships will hit Dublin, Ohio in 30 days and clubs across the country are intently making their final preparations. Will this be the year the Calgary Kangaroos finally break through and capture the Division 1 title or will the Austin Crows make it two in a row? Will the Columbus Jackaroos defend their home turf with another Division 2 crown? Will anyone be able to put a stop to the Denver Bulldogs dynasty in the women's division? These questions will be answered on the field, below are details for other events taking place during the weekend.

The 2014 USAFL Nationals head to the green fields of Dublin, Ohio! Dublin is a small community on the outskirts of Columbus and they are extremely excited to be hosting their first nationals at the beautiful Darree Fields.

Nationals Accommodation Announced

Clubs and players may now begin booking accommodation for the 2014 USAFL Nationals. Clubs have the option of booking with any one of six Dublin hotels, all located within minutes of Daree Fields. The Embassy Suites Dublin will be the main host hotel for this year's National Tournament. The Friday night welcome function and coaches meeting will be held here.

The USAFL Board and Nationals organizing committee would like to get feedback from anyone who attended this year's Nationals in Austin, Texas. One lucky entrant will win free USAFL Player Registration in 2014! The information collected will be used to improve future National Tournaments. The survey will close on December 1.

Home Team Wins National Championship!

For the first time in USAFL history, the host city's home team has won the Division 1 championship. The Austin Crows played a hard fought match against the Calgary Kangaroos to take out this year's title by only 1 point - 4.2.26 to 4.1.25. This was the Crows first year in Division 1 and they showed everyone why they deserved to be there.

Nationals Day 1 Review

Day 1 of the 2013 USAFL National Tournament has drawn to a conclusion with a number of teams clearly set with their eyes on the finals. In Division 1 the Denver Bulldogs, Calgary Kangaroos, Austin Crows and New York Magpies have all finished day one with two wins each.

First up tomorrow, the Denver Bulldogs take on the Calgary Kangaroos at 9am and the Austin Crows and New York Magpies will take the field at 10am to decide who make it through to the final at 4pm.

Aussie Football Returns to Austin’s City Limits

The United States Australian Football League’s (USAFL) National Tournament returns to Austin this weekend, October 19-20. The tournament is expected to attract more than 1,000 athletes from all over North America for the two-day event being held at Onion Creek Soccer Complex, south of downtown. This is the second time the tournament has been held in Austin with the first in 2011. After much success and positive feedback the vote was unanimous to return.

AFL Names Attending USAFL Games

The USAFL is excited to announce there will be an AFL contingent attending the 2013 Nationals.  St. Kilda Saints Captain Nick Riewoldt will be in Austin on Sunday, October 20 for the finals and participate in pre-game ceremonies and awards presentations.
