Central Regionals Retrospective

The COVID-19 crisis, much like the grey colored piece in Settlers of Catan, hath doth absconded with the 2020 USAFL Regional Tournament Series.  Under normal circumstances, we would all have our bags packed en route for flights to the Dallas Metroplex for the first of three stops on what has become the Great American Aussie Rules Roadshow.

Alas, it’s not to be.

But we are slowly moving towards returning to play, with the hopes that we will all get to have our great big family reunion in Ontario, California, this October.

Centennial Tigers Roar Onto Scene as USAFL's 46th Team

Sara Edwards Rohner has taken on a lot of challenges in her athletic life. The former USA rugby player came to Aussie Rules and helped be a part of the Denver Lady Bulldogs’ juggernaut at the beginning of this decade. She has represented her country with the USA Freedom, racking up caps as a dependable on-and-off field leader. Now, she takes on a new challenge: part of the founding group of the Centennial Tigers, the USAFL’s 46th member club.

COVID-19 League Statement, 22 March 2020

First, I want to recognize our Revolution and Freedom players and coaches who have worked so hard to compete in IC 2020. We fully support the decision to postpone but we are disappointed that they will have to wait another year to see their hard work pay off. We are working with both teams to adjust course and prepare for 2021. We are also working hard to create a plan for things here at home.

International Cup Postponed, Update on USAFL Season

The Australian Football League has advised that the AFL International Cup, originally scheduled for July 21-August 8 in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, has been postponed until 2021 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the 2020 season gets underway, the USAFL suggests taking precautionary measures regarding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).  We are following the guidance of local, regional, and national health authorities.

Marshall Hanging Tough Through AFLW Midway Point

Fiercer and Kinder - Remembering Pat Bilder

The passion of Australian rules football ran deep within Patrick Bilder’s veins.

For fifteen years, from Baton Rouge to New York, and then to South Florida, he proved himself  an exemplary teammate, a stalwart defender, a fun loving person, and just all around good human being.

He was also immensely intelligent, and devoted his life to the study and teaching of the sciences, where his work was nationally recognized.
