From Melbourne to Texas: Riddell Umpires take to Nationals

Over forty teams will be making the trip to Austin for Nationals next week, making the long journey to compete.  One other team will be there, but for a whole different reason.

Melbourne-based Riddell Umpires, the officiating association of the Riddell District Football League, will be participating in this year's National Championships, becoming the first team of umpires from Australia to do so.   Founded in 1983, Riddell Umpires have become one of the largest and most innovative umpiring associations in Australia.

USAFL Top 20 Poll III: Top Five Stay, Calgary Gains

After a volatile second poll that saw teams bounce around the rankings like a three-year-old child on a moon bounce, the third USAFL poll saw was much more lucid.  Top five teams stayed intact, the Orange County Bombers garnered more support from the panel in their claim to be the best team in the country, while several other clubs made small, but important moves up the ladder.

The 2015 Nationals return to Austin, Texas on October 17-18.  The tournament will again be held at the Onion Creek Soccer Fields and the Wydham Garden Hotel will play host to the USAFL and its members.

The October weekend differs from the normal second weekend in October as the city plays host to two weeks of the Austin City Limits festival.

College 10s Teams Take to Texas this Weekend

The first college Aussie Rules tournament in nearly a decade takes to the campus of Texas A&M University this Saturday, November 22nd as six teams from five schools take part in the first ever USAFL College 10s Tournament.

Seize the Day - Day 2 at the USAFL Nationals

Central Ohio is really, really flat. Really flat. And yet, that point is somewhat ironic considering how many teams have to climb a metaphorical mountain to make it to their respective Grand Finals at the 2014 USAFL Championships.

Ryan Wins Re-Election, 2015 Board Set

Denis Ryan will head the USAFL as its president in 2015 after beingre elected at the league’s Annual General Meeting in Dublin, Ohio.  The former Baltimore-Washington Eagle ran unopposed, as did three others to keep their board seats as well.  Three further positions were won by new members.

USAFL.com Nationals Live Streaming Schedule

For the first time ever, USAFL.com will be live streaming the action from the USAFL National Championships.  We will be featuring a total of 15 games LIVE from Darree Park in Dublin, Ohio, from across all five divisions, leading up to the Women's, Division II, and Division I Grand FInals on Sunday afternoon.
