USFooty: Good Match for Springs

This is one of several ads being used to help promote Australian football in America.

If you're old enough to have watched sports on television during the 1980s, chances are you spent more than a time transfixed by one game in particular on ESPN.

That game was, and still is, Australian Rules football.

Sheeds wants AFL Round 1 overseas

Former Richmond and Essendon great Kevin Sheedy has called for future AFL seasons to commence with Round 1 played outside of Australia. He made the comment at the AFL Coaching Conference on the Gold Coast, Queensland. As strong an advocate for international footy as worldfootynews.com is, even we might hesitate to seriously suggest such a dramatic change due to the risk of alienating supporters in Australia.

Nashville Kangaroos Tryouts and Recruitment Day

February means one thing to me as coach of the Nashville Kangaroos Football team: only one more month until training officially starts! We had such a terrific year in 2007 both on and off the field, that not even the cold winds nor the snow can dampen my enthusiasm for what is possible in 2008. As the entire administrative staff has been getting prepared to launch 2008, I feel like I have been more busy than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest!

USFOOTY Office Manager, Julie Upton, moving on:

On behalf of everyone involved with USFooty over the past 3 ½ years and the future, the USAFL Executive Board would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Julie for her constant and tireless work above and beyond the call of duty. The additional work we all put into football is because of our love for the game and the people involved in the USA and no one exemplifies this attitude better than Julie.

USFooty Launches Alumni Association

Over the last 10 years USFooty has seen a large number of Aussies take the field. Many of those Aussies have left the USA and have moved around the world, with a large number of them having moved back to Australia.

Every person who has played, or been involved, in the League for the last 10 years has had an impact on our growth. Each club is stronger for each individual’s involvement. That in turn has created a League that has the privilege of hosting the largest Aussie Rules football carnival in the world each year.
