Ohio is Gearing Up for Nationals

Over the weekend of October 13 - 14, 2012 the United States Australian Football League (USAFL) will bring over 40 teams and around 1,000 of the nation’s best “Footy” players to the greater Cincinnati area. The Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau (WCCVB) in the city of Mason will play host to the event which will have an estimated attendance of around 2,000 people and will generate over $1.5 million in economic impact for city.  This is the fifth National Tournament the USAFL has held in Ohio, the birthplace of Footy in the USA.

2012 Nationals Schedule

The 2012 Nationals are now under a week away and clubs are gearing up for an exciting weekend of footy! This year there are four men's divisions and 1 women's division with 38 teams competing. The schedule is now available on the USAFL website with a number of enhancements for looking up teams and game information.

"Kathryn Hogg, the League's Member-At-Large has done a fantastic job getting the website up to speed for this year's tournament." said President, Andy Vanica.

Are you a Master or a Legend of the USAFL?

This year the USAFL celebrates it’s 15th Anniversary and to commemorate this special occasion an Alumni Match will be held at the National Tournament on Sunday, October 14 in Mason, Ohio.

“We want to recognize the contribution of our past players who have since ‘hung up the boots’ by holding a fun, social game and participants will play for either The Masters, or The Legends” said USAFL President, Andy Vanica.

Call for USAFL Board Nominations

Nominations are now open for the 2013 USAFL Board. Nominations may be submitted to USAFL Operations Manager, Doren James or can be taken on the floor of the AGM.

USAFL Board Positions include: President; Vice President East; Vice President Central; Vice President West; Secretary; Treasurer; and Member-At-Large.

2013 Nationals Set to Return to Austin!

Due to the great success of the 2011 Nationals in Austin, Texas, the tournament will return to the "Music Capital of the World" once again in 2013. "We are extremely excited to return to Austin, it was clearly the favorite amongst the players we surveyed" said USAFL President, Andy Vanica, "the city of Austin were able to offer significant financial support to the league for the 2011 tournament which has made returning to the city possible", he concluded.
