The greater USAFL community is mourning the passing of Houston Lonestars player Craig Ruggles, who tragically and unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, November 3, aged 29.

David Bryant, VP of the Lonestars says, “Craig Ruggles was a committed member and great friend within the Houston Lonetsars football community. He will be forever remembered for his energy and passion for the game he adopted 5 years ago when he joined the Lonestars. He will be sorely missed both on and off the field but his legacy will live forever with the Houston Lonestars.”

For the first time in USAFL history, the host city's home team has won the Division 1 championship. The Austin Crows played a hard fought match against the Calgary Kangaroos to take out this year's title by only 1 point - 4.2.26 to 4.1.25. This was the Crows first year in Division 1 and they showed everyone why they deserved to be there.
