Oct 12, 2012 Ohio is Gearing Up for Nationals Over the weekend of October 13 - 14, 2012 the United States Australian Football League (USAFL) will bring over 40 teams and around 1,000 of the nation’s best “Footy” players to the greater Cincinnati area. The Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau (WCCVB) in the city of Mason will play host to the event which will have an estimated attendance of around 2,000 people and will generate over $1.5 million in economic impact for city. Oct 6, 2012 2012 Nationals Schedule The 2012 Nationals are now under a week away and clubs are gearing up for an exciting weekend of footy! This year there are four men's divisions and 1 women's division with 38 teams competing. The schedule is now available on the USAFL website with a number of enhancements for looking up teams and game information. Sep 16, 2012 Are you a Master or a Legend of the USAFL? This year the USAFL celebrates it’s 15th Anniversary and to commemorate this special occasion an Alumni Match will be held at the National Tournament on Sunday, October 14 in Mason, Ohio. “We want to recognize the contribution of our past players who have since ‘hung up the boots’ by holding a fun, social game and participants will play for either The Masters, or The Legends” said USAFL President, Andy Vanica. Sep 5, 2012 2013 Nationals Set to Return to Austin! Due to the great success of the 2011 Nationals in Austin, Texas, the tournament will return to the "Music Capital of the World" once again in 2013. "We are extremely excited to return to Austin, it was clearly the favorite amongst the players we surveyed" said USAFL President, Andy Vanica, "the city of Austin were able to offer significant financial support to the league for the 2011 tournament which has made returning to the city possible", he concluded. Sep 3, 2012 Marriott NE to Serve as 2nd Nationals Hotel The Cincinnati Marriott Northeast will be the second hotel hosting teams at this year's USAFL Nationals. The Marriott is located approximately 5 miles form the field and Kings Island Resort, the main host hotel where all meetings, player check-in and other events will take place. Aug 30, 2012 AFL Combine Day 1 The first day of the inaugural AFL USA Combine has been branded a success, with six elite American college athletes breaking Nic Naitanui's standing vertical-leap record. Held in Los Angeles, the three-day combine is testing 26 college athletes with basketball and NFL football backgrounds. Two will be selected to attend October's NAB AFL Draft Combine at Etihad Stadium. Naitanui jumped 78cm at the 2008 NAB AFL Draft Combine as an 18-year-old. The American athletes are older, aged between 23-24, but outdid the West Coast Eagles ruckman. Read more » |

Aug 29, 2012 Another boost for Donnybrook Football Club Donnybrook Football Club's fortunes continued to improve at the weekend when they chalked up two more wins and saw a member presented with a national award. On Sunday night footballer Chris Sheehan was presented with the United States Australian Football League (USAFL) 2012 Recognition for Service Award, for "outstanding contribution towards enhancing the partnership between the USAFL, its players and the Australian Football Community".
