Another boost for Donnybrook Football Club

Donnybrook Football Club's fortunes continued to improve at the weekend when they chalked up two more wins  and saw a member presented with a national award.

On Sunday night footballer Chris Sheehan was presented with the United States Australian Football League (USAFL) 2012 Recognition for Service Award, for "outstanding contribution towards enhancing the partnership between the USAFL, its players and the Australian Football Community".

The Australia-wide award emphasises Sheehan's efforts in giving US footballers a taste of Australian life.

In 2009, Sheehan volunteered to accommodate US footballer Brady Phillips. This year he is hosting US footballer Caleb Dougherty.

Sheehan received two tickets to the AFL grand final as part of the award, courtesy of the AFL. He will be given a VIP tour of AFL House on Friday prior to the game, as will his parents Tom and Julie.
