Freedom Name IC2020 Training Squad

The USA Freedom Women's National Team is proud to announce fifty-four women who have been selected to the 2020 AFL International Cup Training Squad.

Chosen from a group of 125 athletes, including those who attended last month’s open camp in Arizona, the members of the Training Squad have secured a spot to the summer invite-only camp in Racine, Wisconsin from August 15-19.

From there, individuals will be selected to travel to Australia for next year’s International Cup tournament, the details of which are still to be confirmed by the AFL.

ANZAC Day Commemorations 2019

ANZAC Day, commemorated on April 25th every year, honors the memory and valor of Australians who have served their country and given the ultimate sacrifice.  It is a link of generations, from those who battled at Gallipoli, to the brave men and women of today.

Woven within the fabric of the day is the game of football; for among those who were the first Australians who lost their lives were the heroes of the oval, their future cut short so that future generations can enjoy the fruits of life.

Make Way for Wasatch - The War Gulls Join the USAFL

Nestled in the mountainous ranges of the Midwest USA is the state of Utah.  Independent, beautiful, and proud, founded by pious pioneers, and home to a brilliance of difference landscapes from mountains, to desert, to the famous salt flats in the state’s west.

In 1896, Utah became the 45th state.  In 2019, it becomes home to the USAFL’s 45th club.

The league is proud to welcome the Wasatch War Gulls to the family, taking its name from the mountain range that dominates the central part of the state.

Freedom, AFLW Grand Final Spotlight Women's Football

This weekend, the eyes of the footballing world will be drawn to historic Adelaide Oval for the AFLW Grand Final.

After a two month sprint which has showcased the continued growth of the women’s game, it will come down whether Erin Phillips, Steve-Lee Thompson and the Adelaide Crows will complete their AFLW coronation, or whether the glass slipper will still fit for Darcy Vescio, Brianna Davey and the Carlton Blues.

2019 Regionals Head to Capitals

State capitals are centers of government, commerce, and law.  Some are bustling metropolises; others are quaint towns augmented by stately architecture.

2019 USAFL Nationals Logo Unveiled

When one thinks of Florida, one thinks of the exotic tropical elements that makes it a world famous destination.

The sun, the surf, the beach, the flora and fauna that distinguishes it from everywhere else on the planet.

For one weekend in October, Australian Rules Football will be a part of that landscape.  And this year’s Nationals logo captures it in its full glory.

The 2019 USAFL Nationals logo, featuring flamingos and palm trees as goal posts, with the sun and a seagull at its center, was designed by Dan Milbourne of Bunyip Collective.

Freedom Adds Four to Coaching Staff

2019 is a pivotal year for the USA Freedom women’s national team program, as coach Christina Licata builds her team and staff not just for next year’s International Cup, but for the 2021 Trans-Atlantic Cup, and beyond.

While the brick and mortar of the program is the playing group, no building can stand without a foundation, and so the coaching staff that Licata assembles around her will play a pivotal role in the program’s success.

2018 USAFL Honor Roll

With a hard fought 2018 campaign put to stern, USAFL clubs around the country took the chance to reflect, celebrate and recognize those who made their clubs go on and off the field.  From November all the way through mid-January, each team held awards nights, some wrapped around their club's AGM with an eye to the future.
