Footy Boots sent to South Africa

The footy boots have been packed and sent to South Africa, where I am sure they will be happily accepted. We ended up shipping one large box (it was the largest size box that the Post Office would accept) filled to the top with boots. I find it encouraging knowing that our donations are now being used by other players in South Africa.

United shoot down Bombers, clinch MAAFL crown


Chicago, IL- Chicago was finally able to snap its 6 year drought and return the MAAFL cup home after an emphatic 46 point win over the Milwaukee Bombers. Bolstered by the return of Warrick Burgmann (6 goals) and inspired by fellow United legend Al MacGlashan (3 goals), the boys from Chicago were to strong for a determined yet undermanned Milwaukee squad.

The Convicts to tour USA and Canada in October!

The Australian Convicts football side is set to play a series of matches in the USA and Canada in October 2007.


The team is made up of amateur players and officials from all over Australia with the Convicts charter to promote Australian Football overseas. The playing standard ranges from weekend warriors to players that have represented their leagues and states. This will be the Convicts 4th tour after successfully touring Europe in 2003 and South Africa in 2005 and  March 2007

Kevin Sheedy coming to Nationals!

SACKED Essendon coach Kevin Sheedy yesterday confirmed he would miss the club's best-and-fairest event next month as he seeks to make a clean break from the Bombers.


Club officials hoped to convince Sheedy to attend the sold-out awards dinner at Crown Palladium on October 3, with chief executive Peter Jackson last week saying he would like the Essendon icon to be there.

Atlanta celebrate 10 years of footy

The USAFL is celebrating ten years of footy this year and has requested all clubs submit a "team of the decade" in celebration. The Atlanta Kookaburras were first brought together by Mike Powers in 1998 and since that time have played over 100 games of Australian Rules Football in Atlanta and around the country in many different cities.


The club has a proud and distinguished history already with players representing the USA in Australia tours as well as playing host to the USAFL National Championships in October of 2004.

BLAST FROM THE PAST - #10

The following match report comes from Kansas City. The KC Power have split the club in two for intersquad games. This allows all the players, especially those new to the game, to get some match practice. At the start of the season the club selected two teams that play each other every couple of weekends. The teams stay the same throughout the season so that players can concentrate on the one position and get used to playing with the same people.
