USAFL Top 20 Poll Returns for 2016

After a successful inaugural season, the USAFL Top 20 poll returns in 2016, beginning with the first set of rankings to be released on May 4th.

The poll is used by the league as a system to rank the teams by performance, as all 34 clubs play different schedules and opponents.  Different factors such as opponent strength, travel, and other factors are taken into account by the panelists.

ANZAC Day Commemorations 2016

101 years ago, the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, better known as the ANZACs, fought against enemy forces in the Battle of Gallipoli.  The bravery and sacrifice of the men who fought that battle in 1915, and every man and woman who has served afterwards, are remembered and commemorated every April 25th.

2016 Season Preview - Women's West

We all know that the sun sets in the West, the last rays of each day reflecting off the carmine hued boulders of the Rocky Mountains, through the orange and cool colors of the desert and into the navy blue expanse of the Pacific.

From a women's footy standpoint, however, the day has been long and everlasting.  The brightest point being the Denver Bulldogs, who have come out on top in each of the last six Nationals.  But the pack that is chasing the top dogs is led from out West, with two clubs in the northern part of the great Californian republic nipping at their heels.

The story that is the future of Australian Rules football is being written by a new set of authors.

Kickin' with Klatt: The One at the SCG

As I sit here on my 14 hour flight back home, listening to Spotify and trying to get some sleep, it all keeps running through my mind. With sore muscles serving as a constant reminder that I just played an entire game of footy with no rest the day before, it's hard not to keep thinking about it. Add to that the fact that I just played on the historic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in front of what got up to an estimated 6,000 people before the GWS Giants and the Sydney Swans took the field, and you can see why it's all still racing through my mind.
