On a cool June afternoon the Jackaroos went down South to take on the 2011 Division 4 champions, the Ohio Valley River Rats, in the home of the 2012 national tournament, Cincinnati, Ohio. The first ever opponent of the Jacks in 2008, this matchup has always held special importance for members of the club and is awash with emotions despite the lopsidedness of this rivalry with Columbus’s only loss coming during the regular season of 2010.

Denver Bulldog and USA Freedom player Lara Porter is heading off to Australia this weekend to play a season of football in Brisbane, Australia.
Lara participated in the 3rd placed Freedom squad at the 2011 International Cup in Australia. After discussing an idea with Leigh Barnes, Freedom Head Coach, long time Brisbane resident, player, and coach he set Lara up to play a season with the Yeronga Devils. Lara will return to the USA in time for the 49th Parallel Cup on August 4.

MHz Networks announced today that they have launched an AFL channel on Roku.
"MHz Networks is elated to join forces with the USAFL in promotion of Aussie Rules in the U.S. After nearly 20 years of supporting and broadcasting the sport nationwide, as well as working with the Baltimore-Washington Eagles in our local TV viewing area (Washington, DC Metro), it seems fitting to expand our involvement even further. The Sacramento Australian Football Club (SAFC) is pleased to announce that the men’s and women’s representative teams are now officially named the Sacramento Suns.
The SAFC is excited that the club will now boast both a men’s and women’s, nicknamed the Lady Suns, representative team that will participate in the 2012 USAFL National Tournament to be held in Mason, OH, during the weekend of October 13-14.
The Suns and Lady Suns first official games will be against the Las Vegas Gamblers and the Arizona Lady Hawks, respectively, in Las Vegas on July 28.

The New York Magpies are joining the Center for Anti-Violence Education (CAE) in Brooklyn, New York to raise awareness about violence and build stronger communities through our participation in the 2012 Punch-a-thon. On June 3, 2012, the Lady Pies will punch 1,000 punches representing confidence and empowerment for all survivors of violence.
