Jul 28, 2014 A Letter from the President to all former USAFL Players Dear Former USAFL Player, The 2014 AFL International Cup (IC14) is less than 14 days away. As you know, our players and staff are all volunteers and must fund their own trips to represent the USAFL at IC14, where it is estimated each member will spend a minimum of $4,000. At 17 years of age, the USAFL is now old enough to establish a vibrant and functional Alumni. To kick off our Alumni drive, the USAFL is offering exclusive admission to the VIP section of the 2014 USAFL Nationals in Dublin, Ohio for any donations of $50 or more. Jul 21, 2014 Freeze Continue to Roll in 2014 with a Five-Goal Win in Des Moines There was not to be a home three-peat for the Roosters, who have won their last two matches against the Freeze in West Des Moines. The depth of the Minnesota side was on display, traveling in good numbers, but with some talented outs. The Roosters had a two-goal lead early in the second quarter before the Freeze roared back with the next four goals to take a fragile halftime lead. After an even and hard-fought third term, Minnesota iced the match in the final quarter with a four-goal performance to continue their undefeated 2014 campaign. Read more » |

Jul 21, 2014 Austin Crows Take the Tournament of Champions By air and by road, the Austin Crows made the 957 mile journey over the weekend from the Live Musical Capital of the World to the famous Music City. In what was billed as the "Tournament of Champions" the Crows took a young but eager roster to Nashville to put their talent to the test against the 2013 Division II National Champion Columbus Jackaroos and hometown Division I power, Kangaroos. Though at times the sun was baking, the players were fortunate to get decent cloud cover and low winds throughout the afternoon making the day ripe for some great footy. All three teams showed up with something to prove, and the footy was of a very high level and especially physical for only the middle of the season, and all teams left with plenty of bruises and sore bodies from the day's hard and tough competition. Jul 11, 2014 Women's 2014 International Cup Draw Released The AFL has released the women's draw for next month's International Cup. There will be a total of seven women's teams competing for the title this year. The USAFL will be sending two teams, the Freedom and Liberty. The Freedom will take on Canada Northern Lights in the opening round followed by Canada Midnight Suns, Tonga and Fiji. The Liberty will play Canada Northern Lights in the second round then Ireland, Fiji and Canada Midnight Suns. Read more » |

Jul 6, 2014 USAFL Launches International Exchange Program On June 2nd 2014, Tony Fairhead and Scott Matheson from the USAFL met with AFL Victoria General Manager, Grant Williams, and Communications Manager, David O'Neill. The goal of the meeting was, among other things, to formalize an international exchange program between the two organizations. Jun 30, 2014 AFL International Cup Fixture Announced The AFL have released a revised International Cup (IC) schedule and the men's fixture, seeding the USA Revolution in 4th position. For the second IC in a row they will take on their neighbors from the north, Canada in addition to Finland and New Zealand who they lost to in the 3rd place game at the 2011 IC. Jun 30, 2014 The Lady Suns Have Arrived Saturday, June 28, 2014 - The Sacramento Lady Suns have shown they will be a force to be reckoned with in 2014, defeating the San Francisco Iron Maidens convincingly on their home turf. The Suns and Lady Suns participated in the first ever Western Region Metro Tournament, hosted by the Golden Gate Australian Football League (GGAFL) in Daly City, and traveled in numbers with 27 men and 21 women, along with family and friends, making the trip down Interstate 80.
