USFooty gets around



Former Revolution Coach Gary Hill participated in the Annual Round the World race held on Christmas day each year. Gary represented both USFooty and Australia to an 18th place finish. A good pre-season run.

Kookaburras present third Life Membership

 
Jim Batten presents the Life Membership plaque to Wayne Kraska


Wayne has held club positions of Coach (2003, 2005), Assistant Coach (2002, 2004), Secretary (2003), President (2004 to 2007) and was the driving force behind the very successful running of the 2004 USAFL Nationals in Atlanta. He was awarded the Consul General Kookaburras Cup (2003, 2004) and has played 64 games, equal third highest for the Kookas.

Wayne Jackson joins USFooty Advisory Board


The United States Australian Football League has announced the appointment of Wayne Jackson to the Australian Advisory Board. The Australian Advisory Board was set up in 2006 with a vision of inviting friends of the USAFL in Australia, who have stature in both business and football, to advise the USAFL on issues including business in Australia, the inner workings of the game in Australia and to increase the USAFL’s general understanding of everything football.

Out and about, Sheedy still spreads the word

NINE years ago, Rob Sitch's cousin placed an ad in a Copenhagen newspaper. "Homesick Aussie looking for a kick of the Footy." A Dane and a Kiwi answered. Now, Denmark boasts a nine-team Australian football competition, with juniors.


In South Africa, participation numbers have topped 8000, only seven years after Mtutu Hlomela arrived in Adelaide to take up what he thought was a soccer scholarship, only to find himself signed for a version of football he'd never heard of. He stayed the course, took the game home and converted the masses.
