2008 International Cup


 


We have received information on the 2008 International Cup. Games will be played in two locations, Melbourne and Warrnambool on the following dates:


• Wednesday 27 August  Round 1, Royal Park North
• Friday 29 August   Round 2, Royal Park North
• Saturday 30 August Round 2, two matches  to potentially be played as curtain raisers      
      - Kangaroos v Port Adelaide at MCG (TBC)
      - Geelong v WCE at Skilled Stadium (TBC)
• Saturday 30 August   
     Official Function, Carlton v Hawthorn at Telstra Dome (TBC)
      Parade of teams Carlton v Hawthorn at Telstra Dome (TBC)
• Monday 1 September   
    - Round 3, Warrnambool 
    - Casual function Warrnambool
• Wednesday 3 September  Semi Finals, Warrnambool
• Friday 5 and/or Saturday 6 Sept Finals *


For the Melbourne matches will be played at the Royal Park North precinct, situated in Park Street, Parkville (behind the Royal Melbourne Zoo).  This precinct has 3 quality grounds, numerous changerooms and a soccer field we can utilise for warm ups.  The following google map gives an idea of the grounds.



 


Warrnambool is excited to be also hosting the games.It is the largest city on the Great Ocean Road and is known for its coastline, beaches, historic sites, whale watching, many other tourists’ attractions along with its sporting culture.
