Roosters to Host Inaugural USAFL 9's Tournament

The Des Moines Roosters would like to invite all interested USAFL mens teams to participate in their inaugural 80/35 USAFL 9's Tournament on May 18, 2013. The tournament will run over just one day but the club hopes that the event will grow to become a two day event in future years.

The aim in doing a 9-a-side tournament is to help alleviate additional stress for teams and clubs, and to encourage one or a few individuals within each club to step up and take the reigns in organizing a team or teams to attend. Interest teams are asked to register by March 15.

"The club is working hard to secure affordable lodging deals for visiting teams and for those of you who've never been, we like to have a good a time in Des Moines!" said Roosters President Tyler Kamerman.

The Roosters very fittingly named the tournament the "80/35 USAFL 9's Tournament" as Des Moines, Iowa is closely connected to teams like Minnesota, Chicago and Kansas City via Interstate Highway's 80 and 35. Interstate 80 actually runs from San Francisco, California in the west to New Jersey, just outside of New York City in the East, and I-35 runs from Duluth, Minnesota in the North to San Antonio, Texas and the Mexican border in the south. Both of these highways passing through a large number of cities that are home to USAFL Clubs.

Teams interested in participating should contact Des Moines Roosters President, Tyler Kamerman.
