Improved Game Day Management

During the 2013 season the USAFL is implementing a League Management System (LMS) to allow for more comprehensive data recording, including match and player information. The overall goal is to provide an online management solution for clubs to record their game data and make data collection more streamlined. The USAFL LMS replaces the player spreadsheet and is the only method by which players will be able to earn eligibility points to compete at the National Tournament.

Seeking USAFL Footage

The USAFL Board recently decided to commission the creation of two promotional videos to be used to promote the League. The videos will be design to introduce viewers to the multitude of reasons why we all play this great game. The USAFL hopes to portray as many teams throughout the league as possible and accurately reflect the genuine excitement of the sport and thrilling passion for the game shared throughout the USAFL community.

What's In Store For 2013?

The USAFL Board met over the weekend of January 12-13 in Austin, Texas for the Board's Annual Planning Meeting. A large number of topics were discussed and debated. The final outcomes will be communicated and implemented over coming months. A brief outline of the main accomplishments include:

AFL Affiliation

The AFL International Affiliate Agreement, which is in place through 2016 was reviewed and accepted as well as the 2013 AFL Grant Conditions and the 2012 Financial Report, which will be submitted to the AFL on February 1 as part of the 2012 Annual Report.

Saints Open Door to Revolution

Several USA Revolution players will join Australian Football (AFL) club St Kilda (the Saints) in their high altitude training camp in Boulder, Colorado this weekend after the team’s arrival on Tuesday. USA Revolution Coach Matt Bishop is pleased that his players will finally have the chance to be involved in an AFL camp being undertaken in the United States.

Healthier men, one moustache at a time

We have almost reached the end of Movember and some of the USAFL lads are looking very swish in with their fancy facial hair.  Check out the story behind Movember and how it all started back in 2003 in the Melbourne backyard of Adam Garone.
