Division Two and Division Three at Nationals are as competitive and as full of skill as the top level, and there are very talented footballers, many of them American, taking to the ground from these eighteen teams.

To a T: Licata Named USA Freedom Head Coach

Women’s football, both in Australia and around the world, has taken some giant leaps in the last couple of years.  It is not just a niche, but rather an astronomical pillar in the galaxy of Aussie Rules.

With the naming of their new head coach, another frontier has been crossed.

The USAFL Women’s Association is pleased to confirm that Christina Licata has been named the new head coach of the USA Freedom women’s national team.  Licata becomes the fourth head coach in USA Freedom history and the first woman to hold the position.

When one thinks of Racine, a number of things come to mind: the lakefront, the diverse architecture, the charm of its residents, and of course that sweet, sweet kringle.

To sports fans and movie aficionados, the name “Racine” will instantly recall the Racine Belles of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.  The Belles were featured in the 1992 classic movie “A League of their Own,” and the real life Belles were part of a pioneering group of women during their existence from 1943-1950.

The United States Australian Football League ("USAFL") announced today a sponsorship first with Four'N Twenty® (Patties Foods Pty Ltd), an Australian-based company which produces beef pies, the best-selling sports concession item in Australia and the country’s national. The initial partnership marks Four'N Twenty® as official food sponsor for the USAFL National Tournament and inaugural Mateship Cup, scheduled to be held in Racine, Wisconsin on October 13 and 14, 2018. 

2018 Nationals Preview: Mens Division 1

Lo, for it is October.  The tenth page on the calendar brings with it many things – among them chilly weather, crisp air, foliage, and unnecessarily early Christmas decorations.  Seriously, I haven’t even bought my Halloween candy yet, what the heck?

Of more importance than all of that, October means that the National Championships of Australian Rules Football are upon us.  A year of blood, sweat, tears, and the occasional beverage of tears have brought us to this point.  To quote the immortal Ron Barrassi and probably a few others, “this is what you play for.”
