USA Liberty Announce Captains for Parallel Cup

The Freedom and Liberty coaching staff are pleased to announce the Liberty Leadership team for the upcoming 49th Parallel Cup being played in Fort Lauderdale, FL this weekend. 

Lizzie Even who led the the Liberty squad in 2014 at the International Cup will be back in 2015 as our Captain. Her 4th year in the program, Lizzie has developed into a fine leader with plenty of voice on and off the field, and the team will be looking to her come this Friday.

Two vice-captains will serve the Liberty this year:

Kaitlyn Mascher-Mace, with her dedication to the program over the last two years, and her determination to embrace the game of footy and be the best teammate and player she can be, she is certain to lead by example both on and off the field for the Liberty players.

Finally, Alethea Sison is the Liberty's other Vice Captain. A first year Liberty player, but with plenty of run, guts and heart which you will see when she starts as Centre on Friday night. The coaching staff see Sison playing for years to come with the Liberty and Freedom, and look forward to her stepping up this weekend, leading and controlling the middle of the ground.

"As primarily a development squad, the Liberty team gives players a chance to consolidate their skills, grow as a player and be groomed to seamlessly transition to future Freedom sides," said Liberty assistant coach Milli Bruce.

"This year's squad consists of some seasoned veterans, players coming into their prime, and some fresh players brand new to the sport.  The captains of the Liberty not only have the job of being standout leaders on the field and hopefully guiding their troops to victory, but also leading by example off the field and bringing together all levels of experience into a cohesive team, and showing them what it is to be a National Team Representative.

"I know that Lizzie, Kait and Ally will step up into these pivotal roles," Bruce asserted, "and can't wait to see them lead us onto the field on Friday."
