USAFL International Programs Seek Coaches, Leads

The USAFL is asking for expressions of interest for the six lead roles within the newly formed USAFL International Programs Football Department. These roles are:

Freedom and Revolution 25th Anniversary Teams

The top of the USAFL grassroots development pyramid is to be selected to represent your country. The USA is proud that our International Programs include a Men’s and Women’s team. For the men the USA Revolution is the ultimate goal. On the Women’s side we have the USA Freedom. Each team also has a Reserves team. In the case of the Women the team has been named the USA Liberty. This means, at any one time, we can have over 100 players in the International Program. To be a member of either team you must been born in America.

49th Parallel Cup Preview: Women's Championship

August 18, 2017 seems at once a long time ago and just yesterday.

On a day when Melbourne turned on its weather roulette wheel, the USA Freedom finished up their International Cup campaign.  The result: a seven-point loss to debutante Great Britain, landing the Americans in fourth place from eight teams.  Respectable, but not what they had come to Australia for.

2020 AFL International Cup Headed to Sunshine Coast

For the last two years, the USA Revolution and USA Freedom national teams have been waiting for an opportunity at AFL International Cup redemption.

After a long wait, they will now know when and where they’ll be going in order to get it.

The Australian Football League announced early Monday morning US time that the 2020 AFL International Cup will be played at the newly renovated Maroochydore Sporting Complex on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland from July 25 through August 8.

Whisney Takes Final Bow as USA Freedom Team Manager

This weekend, sixty hopeful athletes make their way to Racine, Wisconsin for the USA Freedom Training Squad Camp.

It will be the continuation of a dream to be a part of a national team – to impress coach Christina Licata and her staff enough to earn the right to play for their country in International Cup 2020, and the 2021 Trans-Atlantic Cup.

There will be those this weekend who will be kicking goals and taking marks and making tackles in a metaphorical way of screaming “PICK ME” to the assembled selectors.  Jess Whisney has experience in that respect.
