Prospects Impress at Final Day of Testing

In a test unfamiliar to college basketballers, athletes excelled with impressive times in the 3km test. It was the final test of the 2013 AFL International Combine in LA today.
David Grzesiak from Wisconsin excelled with an elite time of 10mins 34sec, while ruck prospects 204cm Taylor Broekhuis (11min 24sec), 200cm Nathan Healy (11min 28sec) and 208cm Olatunji Kosile (11min 38sec) showed very impressive endurance in the unfamiliar and grueling test.
“All participants showed their natural talent with the AFL football in a further impressive skills session under the direction of former Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos with assistance from AFL International Talent Coordinator Tadhg Kennelly and AFL Academic Development Manager Mick Ablett,” said AFL’s International and National Talent Manager Kevin Sheehan.
“This concept had broken new ground for the AFL with the undoubted prospect of unearthing the next Nick Naitanui or Mike Pyke from the USA who can impact the AFL,” said Sheehan.
At least three players for the US Combine will be invited to the AFL’s National Draft Combine to be held at Etihad Stadium in October 2013.
