Letter from the President | June 2012
The season is fully upon us and games are being played throughout the country. As a reminder, please ensure that you have paid your USAFL Registration Dues. Why pay dues? It only increases toward Nationals and by paying you are helping the USAFL reach its goals. Register here »
I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the work of Adam Coleman. This June, Adam will step down as USAFL Treasurer. Since 2009, he has worked tirelessly in organizing the financials of the USAFL. Many do not realize the amount of work that the executive board endures to make the league exist, and this is even before a game is played.
In his 5 year financial review presented to AFL International Manager Tony Woods last month, Coleman was proud to say that only $40 was unaccounted for in the last 5 years – amazing! The USAFL also provides financial oversight and guidance to the representative teams, and in 2009, the Freedom made a historic first international trip to Australia. During this trip, it was Coleman’s intention to ensure the team could focus on football, and as a result of his effort, the teams enjoyed a great experience overall.
Prior to the executive board role, he served as the coach of the NC Tigers (2003-2006) and also as a member of the USAFL Advisory Board. A long history with the USAFL and if you see Adam, buy him a beer and a pie as a thank-you. It is without hesitation I can say that Adam leaves the USAFL a better organization than when he arrived. Thank you for your work Adam!
As always, thank you to your commitment in growing Australian football in the US. I welcome feedback, questions, or thoughts, shoot me an email at president@usafl.com or follow me on Twitter @usrevo4.
