Largest Annual ANZAC Day Celebration to Take Place April 21 in New York City
The New York Magpies host annual event to honor and celebrate the
Armed Forces of Australia and New Zealand
WHO: The NY Magpies, an amateur Australian Football Club dedicated to establishing and growing our great Australian sport in the New York metropolitan area and across the USA. The Magpies were established in March, 1998.
WHAT: ANZAC Day Celebration - Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) Day is a special day on the calendars of both countries as they unite to commemorate the sacrifices that the armed forces of both countries have made. In true Aussie and Kiwi fashion the Magpies share their national pride with the greater NY community, hosting their annual ANZAC Day event, which brings together expats and Americans alike for a day not only of remembrance but also celebration.
The Magpies extend an invitation to join them for an outdoor festival, where there will be plenty of Aussie beer, wine, and spirits, paired with a fair dinkum downunder lunch and tasty meat pies. Featuring the Magpies traditional Handball* competition and live performances by

- Laura Bowman with Level 2
An official service will be conducted as the sun sinks below the skyline featuring the Australian, New Zealand and United States national anthems, a minutes silence and renditions of the Last Post and Reville.
