Role descriptions:

President

  • Sit on the National Board and be a member of Executive Board.
  • Follow up with any outstanding Board members action items.
  • Set direction for the USAFL, documenting and developing USAFL Vision on an annual basis.
  • Do everything and anything to allow the USAFL to achieve its mission and vision
  • Write and present President's report annually, including Handbook, National AGM etc.
  • Communicate with each USAFL club as appropriate (regional VP's primarily responsible).
  • Send countless emails and make countless phone calls
  • Communicate with AFL, via e-mail and monthly teleconferences. Meet in person as appropriate.
  • Communicate with AFL clubs as appropriate, meeting CEO's etc. in person as able.
  • Work with, develop and continue ongoing relationships with National sponsors
  • Attend all USAFL teleconferences and meetings
  • Help develop and maintain sister club relations
  • Work with all other board members, particularly each portfolio position (juniors, umpires, coaching, e-commerce etc.) to ensure forward progression in each area.
  • Assist with development and ongoing monitoring of USAFL budget with National Treasurer.
  • Be available to sit on USAFL tribunal and make decisions as appropriate per USAFL bylaws.
  • Ensure Vice Presidents are liaising with their clubs
  • Attend and drive strategy for annual board retreat in February
  • Time - 35 to 45 hours per month

Vice Presidents – East Region, Central Region, West Region

  • Club liaison – Contact every club in your region at least once a month
  • Document all Contact with Clubs as per Tracking Sheet and forward to Secretary
  • Inform Operations Manager of any change in Club Contact details
  • Make sure Club Match results and reports go to USAFL website
  • Make sure Club pages on USAFL Website are updated regularly
  • Track Website Developments and ensure USAFL has links to all Club Websites
  • Attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month)
  • Take on additional projects as required, or projects with specific interest
  • Attend annual Board Retreat in February of each year
  • Time - 10 - 15 hours per month

Secretary

  • Organize and attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month)
  • Conduct any national votes that take place during the year
  • Prepare for AGM (agenda etc.)
  • Maintain Database of all USAFL and USAFL Club Media articles
  • Annually update all Criteria and Bid processes
  • Research Club Information for Annual Handbook
  • Attend annual Board Retreat in February of each year
  • Time - 10 to 15 hours per month

Treasurer

  • Maintain books of the USAFL including managing cash flow, overseas banking and investment plan
  • Be involved with developing sponsors on a National level
  • Develop USAFL budget and financial plan
  • Review National Tournament budget and financing
  • Develop, maintain and communicate internal control procedures
  • Attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month)
  • Financial summaries and updates
  • Attend annual Board Retreat in February of each yearReview and provide input on major financial contracts and other strategic initiatives
  • Review and authorize grant requests
  • Time - 10 to 15 hours per month

Member At Large

  • Special projects person. Works directly with president to complete projects to grow the sport
  • Extremely active person on the board
  • Attend USAFL board meetings by conference call (once a month)
  • Sponsorship proposals
  • Attend annual Board Retreat in February of each year
  • Time 10 - 15 hours per month
