This has also held true from a footy sense; the Central region has seen more clubs sprout up over the last seven seasons than any other. These teams, such as Columbus, Des Moines, and Indianapolis, take their place alongside teams with history in the foundation of the very league. Mar 23, 2015 USAFL Season Preview Week - EastThough the balance of power has shifted from the East Coast clubs out West, three of these eight teams contested for Grand Finals at last year's National Championships. Only New York has been left in Division I, and they won the whole shebang. That said, the Eastern clubs are slowly gaining somewhat of resurgence. There is a ton of talent in this group, including some of the best American players in the country. Mar 20, 2015 Former Freedom Players Take Helm of Liberty Coaching StaffFor 2015, several former Freedom players will continue that push from the coach’s box, hoping to develop a new group of starlets ahead of International Cup 2017. The new staff will be eyeing new recruits as the cycle for IC17 begins April 10-12 with the US Freedom and Liberty tryout sessions in Arizona. The 6'11" ruckman played a shade over a half of football for the Collingwood Magpies,during which he amassed a team high fourteen hitouts in a seven point loss to arch-rival Carlton in a NAB Challenge match at the Queen Elizabeth Oval in Bendigo. Mar 6, 2015 Beasts in Training: Eastern Clubs form Development ProgramWhen it comes to a national sports program, the whole is generally only as good as the sum of its parts. For teams in the Eastern US, they are hoping to add to the machine of American footy by cultivating some of the cogs that make it go. The Eastern Australian Football League (EAFL) Coalition Development Program was officially launched this week, becoming the first such endeavor to represent an entire region within the USAFL. Feb 28, 2015 Holmes Solid in AFL Debut for St. KildaTwo years ago, Chicago-native Jason Holmes didn’t know that Australian Rules football existed. On Saturday, he played it at the highest professional level the game has to offer – the AFL. Granted, this was only a preseason game, the opening match of his St. Kilda Saints’ 2015 campaign played in the small Brisbane suburb of Burpengary. Feb 14, 2015 First Set of Online Coaching Courses AnnouncedUSAFL coaches will have the opportunity to complete their coaching accreditation in online courses. The courses, conducted by the league, will allow those interested to earn their Level 1 or Level 2 accreditation.
