Extended Site Maintenance

The USAFL website will be undergoing a significant upgrade beginning July 7.   During this time the site will be in readonly mode.  We will seek to minimize the downtime and the following functions will not be available:

  1. Player registration - no user accounts can be created and registration fees will not be accepted
  2. LMS functionality such as reporting scores, managing rosters, etc.

The maintenance is planned for completion no later than July 14, 2014.

USAFL Launches International Exchange Program

On June 2nd 2014, Tony Fairhead and Scott Matheson from the USAFL met with AFL Victoria General Manager, Grant Williams, and Communications Manager, David O'Neill.  The goal of the meeting was, among other things, to formalize an international exchange program between the two organizations.  The USAFL is pleased to announce a partnership with AFL Victoria beginning for the 2015 season.

Philadelphia Hawks Soar Over North Carolina Tigers

It’s always good to start anything off with a win.

The beginning of a new era in Hawks history was a positive one, as the team held off the North Carolina Tigers 54-47 in their first home game at Lower Perkiomen Valley Park.

AFL International Cup Fixture Announced

The AFL have released a revised International Cup (IC) schedule and the men's fixture, seeding the USA Revolution in 4th position. For the second IC in a row they will take on their neighbors from the north, Canada in addition to Finland and New Zealand who they lost to in the 3rd place game at the 2011 IC.

The Lady Suns Have Arrived

Saturday, June 28, 2014 - The Sacramento Lady Suns have shown they will be a force to be reckoned with in 2014, defeating the San Francisco Iron Maidens convincingly on their home turf.

The Suns and Lady Suns participated in the first ever Western Region Metro Tournament, hosted by the Golden Gate Australian Football League (GGAFL) in Daly City, and traveled in numbers with 27 men and 21 women, along with family and friends, making the trip down Interstate 80.

Nationals Accommodation Announced

Clubs and players may now begin booking accommodation for the 2014 USAFL Nationals. Clubs have the option of booking with any one of six Dublin hotels, all located within minutes of Daree Fields. The Embassy Suites Dublin will be the main host hotel for this year's National Tournament. The Friday night welcome function and coaches meeting will be held here.

Support Women's Footy in the USA

We are excited to announce the Freedom/Liberty fundraising website is up and running! As you know, the USAFL is a non-profit organization, and most of the efforts to represent the US in Melbourne at the AFL International Cup is self-funded by the individual players. This year, we chose to send two women's teams to Australia because we believe in not only representing the US to our fullest, but also to support the growth and development of the game of footy around the United States.

The USAFL's 2013 Annual Report is now available for download from our website. The report includes a final address from the outgoing President, Andy Vanica, a review of the National Championships, reports including the women's and umpiring programs, finance report, communications report and an overview of the 2013 AFL Combine and 49th Parallel Cup.

Combine Records Set Again

Towering American Mason Cox will head to Australia later this month to be trialed by four AFL clubs interested in signing him as an international rookie.

Cox, who at 211.4cm is the tallest player ever tested by the AFL in Australia or overseas, was a standout at last month's USA Combine at Los Angeles.

His speed, agility and ball-handling impressed onlookers, so much so that he will travel to Australia and take another important step towards joining an AFL list.
