Apr 12, 2011 Regional Teleconferences Kick Off TonightTonight will be the first in a series of three regional teleconferences for USAFL clubs. The teleconference is an opportunity to hear from President, Rich Mann and Region Vice Presidents, Andy Vanica - West, Chet Ridenour - Central, Mike Sheppard - East on important topics for the upcoming season. If you can not make the call for your region, you are welcome to attend one of the other two calls. Only one club rep per club please. Apr 4, 2011 AFL on ESPN 2: Geelong vs. Port AdelaideThis Saturday evening (April 9) at 12ET/11CT/10MT/9PT the AFL will be broadcast LIVE on ESPN 3, ESPN 2 and ESPN 2HD the match between the Geelong Cats and Port Adelaide Power. This is a great opportunity for clubs to get out amongst their local community to not only watch the game, but to use it as a recruitment tool for new players. Mar 29, 2011 USA Freedom Squad AnnouncedUSA Freedom Coach, Leigh Barnes, announced the USA Freedom squad for the 2011 AFL International Cup today. The team will travel to Australia in August to compete in the first ever women’s International Cup competition. Six teams from the USA, Canada, Papua New Guinea, Italy, Ireland and a Multi-cultural Indigenous team will compete in this history-making event in Sydney and Melbourne from August 15-27. Mar 17, 2011 2011 Nationals Set for Austin!The USAFL Executive Board and National Championships Committee are excited to formally announce that the 2011 Nationals will take place in Austin, Texas over the weekend of October 8 - 9th. “It is an honor for Austin to be chosen for the USAFL National Tournament, and we are excited to host this one-of-a-kind event,” says Matthew Payne, executive director of the Austin Sports Commission. “We have enjoyed working with USAFL officials through the bid process and are looking forward to showcasing our wonderful city to the many athletes coming from all over the country. Austin is known for doing things a little unconventionally, so we know this city will embrace the great game of Australian Football.” |
