Greving and Becker Accept Roles in International Program
USAFL ANNOUNCES CARI GREVING AS HEAD OF OPERATIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM
New role will support continued growth of USAFL's National Teams and International Program
The United States Australian Football League (USAFL) is excited to announce the appointment of Cari Greving as the new Head of Operations for the USAFL International Program (IP). This expanded role is a key part of the USAFL's ongoing efforts to structure and strengthen the IP and support the continued growth of the USA Freedom and USA Revolution, the organization’s Women’s and Men’s National Teams.
Greving, who has been an integral part of the USAFL since 2018, has long been involved with the national teams, formerly serving as the Manager for the USA Freedom and spending this past year as General Manager of the IP. She is also an active contributor on the USAFL National Tournament team. With her deep knowledge of the organization and passion for the sport, Greving is poised to take the 2024 reset of the USAFL International Program into a growth phase in 2025. Her role is designed to provide enhanced management support for the teams while enabling the creation of a separate formalized football department.
“I am truly honored and excited to take on this expanded role,” Greving said. “It’s been a privilege to be part of the USAFL for so many years, and this opportunity allows me to rethink the GM role as Head of Operations that will drive the future of our national teams. Being involved with the IP reset this past year was challenging and rewarding, seeing both teams perform so successfully in Toronto at the TransAtlantic Cup. I am committed to supporting and growing our programs and the talented people who make them possible.”
As Head of Operations, Greving will oversee the logistics, systems, and processes needed to maintain and develop the USAFL’s international teams. She will work closely with the coaching staffs, Shared Services, eventual Head of Football Department, and the broader USAFL community to streamline operations and ensure the USA Freedom and USA Revolution teams are well-supported as they continue to compete on the world stage.
Dan Sarbacker, Revolution Hall of Fame inductee and current Head of the USAFL International Program, spoke highly of Greving's capabilities and her new role:
"Cari's leadership and commitment to the USAFL have been unwavering, and I can’t think of anyone better suited to continue in this role with expanded influence," Sarbacker said. "Her time with both the Freedom and Revolution programs, along with her experience contributing to large-scale events like Nationals and the 49th Parallel Cup, shows she has the organizational acumen and insight into the USAFL's national teams to support our growth. This role will allow her to shape the future of our international program in ways that will strengthen our teams and our competitive edge on the global stage. We are fortunate to have her involved.”
The refactoring of this leadership role reflects the USAFL's ongoing commitment to professionalism, efficiency, and growth. As she reworks the formerly GM position, Greving will be instrumental in shaping the future of the USAFL International Program over the next decade.

USAFL BOARD APPROVES HEAD OF FOOTBALL DEPARTMENT ROLE; BECKER TO ASSIST DEFINING THE POSITION IN THE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM
Jason Becker will take on a research effort to define future scope for Head of Football role and structure for IP’s Footy Department
The United States Australian Football League (USAFL) is pleased to announce the approval of the Head of Football Department position, a role that expands the leadership of the International Program. This role will eventually report to the International Program Lead, and work alongside the Head of Operations, Cari Greving.
Dan Sarbacker, Revolution Hall of Fame inductee and International Program Lead, expressed his excitement in the USAFL Board’s support:
"I am thrilled to have the Board’s support to continue growing the International Program. The role of Head of Football Department is critical to ensuring the success of our national teams, and I look forward to engaging stakeholders and experts to define what that role and footy department structure should look like.”
Jason Becker has agreed to undertake a research assignment to help define the future structure and responsibilities for the Head of Football and the broader Footy Department for the USAFL’s international teams, the USA Freedom and USA Revolution.
Becker’s involvement with Australian Rules football in the United States spans more than two decades, as a player, coach, and leader. His deep experience, extensive network, and commitment to the growth of the sport make him uniquely qualified for this task. Becker will assess the current needs and future potential of the USAFL International Program, identifying how the Footy Department can best support the USA Freedom and USA Revolution teams.
Sarbacker continued: “We know we need to formalize the footy department, but do not have a great sense, at present, of how that should look. Jason has a wealth of experience in all areas of football, from playing and coaching to mentoring and advising. His network across the US and Australia, curated over nearly three decades, will be invaluable."
Becker's focus will be on proposing a structure around the USAFL’s international teams, ensuring that both the USA Freedom and USA Revolution players and coaches have the leadership, support, and infrastructure they need to compete at the highest levels. With that structure and role defined, the IP will look to fill the Head of Football Department role, sometime in 2025.
