LMS Officially Rolls Out

The USAFL is proud to announce the official launch of the League Management System (LMS). The LMS will allow teams to track games played during the season, player participation, and points earned for participation to help determine eligibility for Nationals.

The system is now open to all USAFL clubs with the following features:

A club administrator can:

  • Manage the Roster for a match that their club is playing
  • Monitor the number of Nationals Eligibility Points that their players have accumulated for the current year
  • Deactivate players that are no longer playing in the USAFL

A registered USAFL Player can:

  • Pay their yearly USAFL Membership dues; and
  • View the history of games they have played.

Everyone can:

  • View upcoming and recently played matches;
  • View details for a match including location, scores, and roster for each team;
  • View match history and nationals eligibility points for any player; and
  • View Club pages including their upcoming and past matches and roster of active players.

Says VP West Brandon Blankenship, “The LMS has been a major focus of the executive board this off-season with development starting in December and testing during the SCAFL metro league. We are looking to streamline manual processes at Nationals while increasing participation transparency for all players and clubs.”  The LMS is a result of Member-at-large Kat Hogg’s work and knowledge. Without her, there would be no LMS. Previous research on systems that could handle the USAFL’s unique qualification system for Nationals was estimated at upwards of $20,000 per year from 3rd parties. “The league should be very thankful for Kat’s dedication to making the LMS materialize,” says USAFL President Andy Vanica.

The LMS will track both metro and league games. To be eligible for Nationals, a player must earn a total of six points, with the following restrictions:

  • No more than two points can be earned in a calendar week (Monday to Sunday)
  • A maximum of 2 points can be earned by playing metro matches
  • A metro match (1 point) is a game within your club
  • A league match (2 points) is a game between your club and another club

For this year, a team administrator has 7 days to finalize a roster after a game has been played. Only paid registered players will be eligible to earn points. There are no changes in the registration process for players. Club administrators can gain access via their USAFL login. Club Administrators can direct login questions to Doren James (operations@usafl.com). LMS specific questions should be directed towards your region VP.

Details on the LMS can be found in the LMS Handbook.
