Division One Outcome

On November 19 the Dallas Magpies submitted an appeal to the USAFL Board regarding the decision to vacate the Division One championship title. The Executive Board reviewed the appeal and decided against any change to the sanctions. A decision to cheat and falsify records was made and the club must take responsibility for those actions.

The following factors will be taken into account for the 2013 season:

  • Dallas will be able to conduct all team activities during the year.
  • Dallas players are able to participate at Nationals. Their placement will be to teams that cannot field a full team and allocations will be made by the USAFL.
  • Dallas players and USAFL members are able to participate in national team activities.
  • No restrictions are placed on club administration. Penalties against club administration could hinder the operation of the club during the year.
  • The USAFL will be supporting growth via an umpire clinic.
  • Dallas must submit an apology to the USAFL community.
  • Dallas are required to supply 5 boundary, goal or field umpires at the National Tournament.

The Executive Board understands the severity of the penalties but feels they are warranted due to the transgressions.

Below is the apology as submitted by the Dallas Magpies:
