Thanks to Kat

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kat so very much for all of her great efforts in promoting womens footy in the US. I believe I forgot to do so  in Melbourne, but when Rich thanked Kat for all of her accomplishments in getting the USAFL womens program to the stage that it is now, it almost brought the house down.

I used Kat as a sounding board, before, during, but not after, and I would like to apologise for that. I would have loved to get her more playing time during the tournament, but at times abject panic set in, and I alone must take responsibilty for that. My coaches reminded me at all times who was on the bench and who needed a run, but 12 minutes of playing time and trying to get 26-27 players to fit into 18 ended up being a lot harder that I thought, and I thought it was going to be hard anyway.

I hope we have many more "Kats" in the system, if the players of today can take a leaf out of her book and dedicate themselves to the betterment of womens footy in the US, on and off the field, then our sport will be in very good hands indeed.
