At the nationals’ banquet in Atlanta last October, the Milwaukee Bombers received the news that they would be hosting the ninth annual USAFL national championships in the fall of 2005. Since that announcement, Milwaukee has been hard at work preparing for the event and is looking to build on the success of last year’s championships in Atlanta.
The tournament will be played over two days (October 1-2) at the Milwaukee Polo Fields and will feature three divisions pitting clubs according to their national rankings and league titles. The event also will include booths featuring Australian foods and beverages, Australian merchandise, as well as USAFL club and tournament gear. In addition, clinics will be held for those who would like to learn more about the game.
The Milwaukee Marriott West, located a short 12 minutes from the Polo fields will be the host hotel for the weekend. The USAFL will host a Wisconsin style Tailgate party for the official banquet on the Saturday night. The festivities will be help at the grounds of the hotel. We look forward to a high profile Australian speaker at the event. More details will be available over the next few months on the USFooty National’s website.
Future details about the tournament will be released in the coming months with the launch of the national’s website.
