On a recent trip home to Melbourne Australia Guy White player for the Arizona Hawks, and local player in the AZAFL for the Scottsdale Dingos was extended the arm of fellowship by the Australian Football League’s own Hawthorn Hawks. Greeted by the CEO Steven Leighton, he was invited to attend a practice session on Thursday the 17th of February 2004. Guy, his wife Shannon, and sister Leanne were taken on a tour of the Field and training facilities at Glenferie Field, the Home of the Hawks. After the tour they were able to sit and watch the training session with Steve. After the training was over Guy was called down to the field to meet and have his picture taken with the coach for the Hawks, Peter Schwab, and two of the hawks stars Trent Croad, and Nick Holland. The local news was there for an earlier taping of the coach’s interview, but stayed on to record as the meeting took place. Guy was given a new 2004 Hawks guernsey, a Sherrin football used by the Hawks in training, and an opportunity to sit in the President's chair and have his picture taken in front of the Hawks' Trophies. Although a lifelong fan of the Richmond Tigers Football Club, Guy will be keeping an eye on his new friends at the Hawthorn Hawks this 2004 season.
