2004 Macquarie University Scholarship

USFooty is pleased to announce Justin Valley, of Penn State University and the Western PA Wallabies, as the winner of the 2004 Macquarie University Australian Football Scholarship to attend Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. Justin is a senior in Management Science and Information Systems with a GPA of 3.2.

According to Revolution Coach, Scott Nicholas:

Justin is a great young player with loads of potential, and I am sure his playing time in Australia will help develop him further.  We first spotted Justin at the training sessions that the Revolution team had in Pittsburgh, prior to the Canada game.  He came down and displayed some great endeavor that had the selectors quickly bring him up into the Revolution Squad for 2003.  I am sure that Justin will come back a better player and become a valuable asset on future Revolution teams.

Justin will be heading down to Sydney next March for a full semester to study at Macquarie University and to play with the Macquarie University Kookaburras in the Sydney Football Association.  Macquarie University is very excited about this scholarship and is looking forward to hosting Justin.  Macquarie is located in the suburbs of Sydney, with around 25,000 students including 5,000 international students.  The university has one of the most productive research programs in the country and an internationally recognized business school.  In recent years, the Macquarie University Kookaburras have been the most successful club in the SFA.

The 6’1’’, 235lb, key position player said: “I'm extremely excited to head over to Sydney to study, play footy, and become immersed in the overall culture.  I'm especially anxious to regularly play footy in such an environment because I feel my skills and overall knowledge of the game will be given an opportunity to increase dramatically.  This scholarship seems like a fantastic opportunity and I can't wait to get over there.”

USFooty would like to wish Justin all the best in both his collegiate and football education while in Sydney and look forward to him being a great ambassador for USFooty.

USFooty would like to thank Macquarie University and the Macquarie University Kookaburras for their generous donation.
