On Sunday, September 28, the US Revolution will take on the Caltex/Mayfair Balmain Tigers at Miller Field, Staten Island New York at 12pm. This will be the first time the Revolution have played against an Australian team and preparations are on in earnest for this historical game.

"We are looking forward to the first ever USA V Balmain (an Aussie team) match.  Never before has an American team played a touring side from Australia, and with that, we are very determined to win.  I think it will be a great challenge and an absolute milestone if we can pull this out.  AS the USA Revo's have never lost a match on US soil, we are not about to tarnish that record.  This will be a great match." - Revolution Coach, Scott Nicholas

The Tigers are one of the founding clubs of the Sydney Football League (SFL) and are coached by Troy Luff, a former Sydney Swans player of ( ) AFL games. The Tigers, who were last premiers of the SFL in 1997/'98, are on their end of season trip away and have brought over a side comprising players from all three grades that make up the senior side.

While the Balmain boys season is over and they are on an end of season trip, they certainly won't want to go down as the first Aussie team to be beaten by an All-American side. The game will be a great indication of where football is at in America and a good indication of where the Revos are placed in their quest for the 2005 International Cup.
