Eastern Region Umpires Clinic
The 2002 Eastern Region Umpires and Coaches Clinic is being hosted by the Canadian Australian Football Association in conjunction with the Ontario Australian Football League, on the weekend of May 3 5 in Toronto.
COACHES
The Coaches Clinic commences on Saturday May 4 at 9:00AM. The Clinic will be run by Denis Ryan and will consist of a combination of theory and practical work. Coaches who participate in the clinic will be eligible for official coaching accreditation.
To register for the coaching clinic, or if you would like more information, contact Denis Ryan at coachingdevelopment@usfooty.com.
UMPIRES
The Umpires Clinic will begin on Friday May 3 at 7:00PM with an informal meeting. While it is recommended that umpires attend the Friday evening meeting, it is not compulsory. USAFL Umpires Coach, Andrew Boyle, will conduct the clinic. Umpires who successfully complete the clinic will begin the process towards official AFL Level One accreditation.
While the clinic is designed for a novice level, it is expected that participants will already have a thorough knowledge of the laws of Australian Football. The clinic will be concentrating on the skills of umpiring, not the rules. A reasonable level of fitness is also expected, with the potential to reach a high level of fitness by the National Tournament in October. As there is no Western Umpires Clinic scheduled for 2002, umpires in the West are invited to attend this clinic.
To register for the clinic, or for more information, contact Robert Kelly at umpires@usfooty.com
