selected by the USAFL to be the 2002 AFL Scholarship Player. Jeremy will be following in the footsteps of Lehigh Valley Crocodiles and American Revolution mid-fielder, Dustin Jones. Jeremy recently received the call from Revolution Coach Gary Hill. According to Jeremy, "when I finally got the call from Gary Hill, I was at work. I was just finishing up lunch when my phone rang. After introducing himself, he told me that I'd be filling the spot this year. I was ecstatic! I had to sit down before I could talk anymore with him, because I was shaking!"
Jeremy has been selected because in the eyes of the selection committee he is the most outstanding young American playing in the USAFL. According to Coach Hill, "the kid has talent to burn, you rarely see a guy of his size with so much skill and athletic ability on a footy field." The AFL Scholarship Program takes a promising American to Melbourne for several weeks as a guest of the 2000 AFL Champions, the Essendon Bombers. During these weeks, Jeremy will train with Essendon's legendary coach, Kevin Sheedy, and play football with some of the best young players in Australia.
Lets all congratulate Jeremy!
