Jim Martin
Jim Martin joined the footy family in 1999 with the St Louis Blues. Jim was an instrumental member of building the St. Louis Blues during the early years. This skill was noticed by the League when Jim joined the Board in 2002 as VP for the Central Region. He stayed in this role for 10 years, serving under 4 Presidents.
Jim always was a voice of reason on the Board and he provided a consistent presence on the Board over a critical period of the Leagues growth. By day Jim is a lawyer and this skill was heavily utilized by the Board. All critical decisions were blessed by Jim and his guidance was valued and priceless. Jim has hidden vocal talents which come to the fore at Board meetings after a few Coopers. Jim was a gentleman on the field and a gentleman in the Boardroom. He is an unsung hero of the league given the countless hours that he has served the sport over more than a decade.
Jim was the President of the St. Louis Blues A.R.F.C. from 2001-2011, and during that time the Blues were known for developing some of the best American players in the USAFL. Jim took over as coach for the Blues in 2001-2005, leading the Blues to the premiership of the MAAFL (Mid American Australian Football League) in the 2003 and 2004 seasons (and playing in Division 1 at Nationals those years), and going 27-37 overall. As a player, Jim reached the 100-game milestone in 2008, and was an alternate for the 2002 Australia Cup squad. Jim is a shareholder at Polsinelli PC, a 950-attorney law firm with 21 offices throughout the country, and he lives in St. Louis, Missouri with his wife Jessica, daughter Ava, and son Otto, who now plays for the Blues as a promising teenager.
