Be part of the Revolution

Be a Part of the Revolution!

As the new coach of the American Revolution I would like to thank the USAFL Board for giving me the opportunity to coach players from a country where they are enthusiastic, passionate and hungry to develop their Australian Football prowess.  It is with great honor that I have accepted this prestigious role.

I fully understand that the immense challenge for the Revolution, and the USAFL, is to improve at a rate faster than teams from countries such as South Africa and Papua New Guinea.

The 2011 International Cup, is in the distant future, so it seems, but to ensure the team is prepared to deal with the challenges of limited game time, player interaction and funding an innovative plan needs to be developed and implemented swiftly and efficiently.

In the very near future I will be announcing the appointment of Assistant Coaches that offer a high level of playing and/or coaching experience and are also located in areas that allow maximum player interaction. Following this the team managers and support staff will also be announced.

During 2009 the objective is to identify all potential players that could possibly represent the Revolution and evaluate their ability and commitment by working with all USAFL Coaches, attending USAFL matches, including the 2009 US Footy Nationals.

Revolution v. Northwind August 1-2, 2009.

The USAFL will also host the Canadian Northwind during the weekend of August 1-2, 2009, in Mason, Ohio (just north of Cincinnati).  This will be the first opportunity for the Coaches to evaluate many players so I urge anyone wanting to be part of the Revolution to be available for this weekend.

A squad of approximately 40 players will be chosen to represent the team during 2010 and the aim is to play as many International and USAFL matches as possible during that year with the intent of providing the players with exposure to the best possible resources that will aid their continuous improvement.

I am fully aware of the time and expense involved in representing the Revolution and one of the highest priorities in my plan is locate and work with the most passionate and energetic people that can help us raise the funding required for the team to travel to Australia in 2011.

I want to unearth all the players in the USAFL competition that are capable of and have the drive and passion to represent their country! Whether a past Revolution player or a potential player, if you truly believe that you can lift the standard of footy, on and off the field, across the country then I want to hear from you.

To express your interest in participating, to nominate a potential player or for further information my contact details are below, I look forward to hearing from you.  Please send the following information:
