British Columbia thanks US players and supporters
To the US AFL:
On behalf of the British Columbia Australian Rules Football League, I would like to express a huge thank you to all your players and supporters that participated, and helped support the BC Footy Cup and International competition, over the past weekend, in Vancouver.
The weekend without a doubt was a tremendous success and the attendance of your teams in the event confirmed that the growth of Australian Rules Football is heading in the right direction in North America.
The committee members of your league should be very proud of how the Revolution, Freedom and Junior teams represented themselves on and off the field during the event. A special thanks to Paul (Plugger) O’Keeffe and Rich Mann for their assistance in umpiring games.
We appreciate the distance traveled and expense that was incurred by your players and supporters to show their amazing commitment to this great game.
We will look forward to seeing you again, if not in 2008 due to the tournament in Australia but in 2009 for the next International event in Vancouver.
