Lady Hawks Nationals Fundraiser

After months of planning, everything finally came together at a small Tempe venue called Last Exit.  Five local bands offered to play on behalf of the Lady Hawks with music ranging from punk to metal to rock, and of course no show is complete without a Weezer cover band.  Our local brewery, Four Peaks, was generous enough to donate two kegs for the event, so cheap beer specials ran all night.  On top of the proceeds from the door, we made a little extra cash from our Lady Hawks t-shirts, which were generously donated to the team.  Of course, we also talked up our much awaited calendars, which should be out within the next week.  Photographed by John Dowd, a local photographer, the calendars show the wet, muddy side of the Lady Hawks.  (Who knew a 3 hour photo shoot could be so much fun?)

All in all, the Fundher Down Under benefit concert was a huge success.  The night was filled with great music, good people, and of course a bit of cash for the ladies. We want to give a special thanks to Last Exit for hosting the event, Four Peaks Brewery for the wonderful Kiltlifter, John Dowd for taking some hot pictures, Tony Murel for donating the t-shirts and calendars to the team, all of the bands who rocked out (Avenue A, Destructured, No Lily, Brother Lush, and Broadweezer), and of course all of the wonderful people who came to support the Lady Hawks.  We're a little bit closer to Nationals because of you.  Cheers!
